We are a Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) affiliated cowboy action shooting club located at the Mid Carolina Rifle Club in Gaston, South Carolina.

If you have interest in the old West or competitive shooting, you should come out and join us at a match.  Palmetto Posse members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting in a safe, fun, family-friendly environment.

Our monthly match is held the first Saturday of each month.  Match registration begins at 8:30am and a safety meeting is held at 9:30am.  We begin shooting shortly thereafter.  New shooters and visitors are always welcome, it is highly encouraged to come watch a match to get an understanding and feel for how a typical match is conducted.  Eye protection and ear protection are required. 

Our matches consist of 6 stages.  You will need approximately 60 rounds of pistol ammo, 60 rounds of rifle ammo, and a box of shotgun shells.   We allow up to two re-shoots for gun or ammo malfunctions at our monthly matches.  A match usually lasts 3 to 4 hours depending on the number of registered competitors.  Competitors are broken into posses ranging from 12 to 18 members. 

Palmetto Posse holds an annual match each December.  This match benefits Toys for Tots.  This match is always a lot of fun, but very few if any “clean” shooters are typically found after this match.
